VIDEOKILLS is a Berlin based Artist platform for Video art, Visual & Sound Multimedia and performance based artists. We are trying to build a contemporary video art community across a number of eclectic venues, and offering an opportunity to the many up and coming visual based Berlin artist.

VIDEOKILLS is a monthly Video Art event. We have a policy of OPEN SUBMISSION and everyone who is interested in submitting work will get screened provided they fit within our loose criteria.

Created in 2009 as an interesting way to share opportunity for new artists in a free, safe and constructive platform to present new videos and ideas.

We are also Interested in the education of Video Art and to explore past influences of some of Berlins up and coming video based artists. Our aim is to open up discussion about Video Art and its influences on contemporary Video Art.

Berlin is home to one of the most fastest growing, exciting and innovative art communities and it still growing. Berlin allows space for ideas and opportunity.

VIDEOKILLS welcomes artists, curators, theorists, gallerist's and anyone else looking to share opportunities, ideas and experience.

VIDEOKILLS: International Video Art Festival

VIDEOKILLS presents… its first International Video Art Festival 2009!
The festival will showcase works from international artists in the form of video installations, video art, experimental, narrative and documentary short films. In addition, we will host a Skype symposium series where scholars and video artists from around the world will lecture and participate in panel discussions on a wide range of topics from art to technology. There are also a series of workshops scheduled to coincide with symposium topics, focusing on techniques and innovation. The philosophy of VIDEOKILLS and the International Video Arts Festival is accessibility, open exchange of art and ideas, and a dedication to the preservation, invention and evolution of the medium of video art. The Festival will take place from the 26th-30th August 2009. The location is STATTBAD, an indoor swimming complex, erected in 1907 but which has been idle for the past eight years. The STATTBAD is currently being transformed into a multi-use space for concerts, festivals, and myriad of other events. For further information see the website.
