Philadelphia painter and musician Tim Bowen's career spans over thirty years beginning in 1976 with his initial use of female nudes and guitar players as a motif; continuing through the Brueghel inspired figure compositions of the early 80s the work evolved to include the intricate 3-dimensional shadowbox series followed by glass and fabric pieces of the 90s which led to the large scale multiple-panel politically charged post-911 paintings. Despite his ever-changing diverse subject matter, use of materials and stylistic approaches the artist's populist sensibilities rarely fail to delight and/or provoke the viewer.
