These images make use of point clouds with depth of field technique used to render Thom Yorke's face in the Radiohead video "House of Cards." The Processing library used to create these videos was provided by Kyle McDonald, whose countless experiments with ThreePhase rendering proved extremely informative and inspirational. The creation of these images relies upon triangulation, basically a much simpler and rather primitive motion capture setup involving a digital projector and camera. The digital projector aids in structured light scanning. The three phase scanning technique developed by McDonald involves the projection of a "pre-blurred" pattern of three cosine waves (cos(θ - 2π/3), cos(θ), cos(θ + 2π/3)) which makes up for the natural blurring as the subject falls back from the projector's focal plane.

Full Description
To modify the decoder application provided by McDonald, I used the PeasyCam and ControlP5 libraries.
These ThreePhase images and videos are prototypes leading to immersion environments of portrait "landscapes" that can be explored by the viewer.
