Peter Van Riper: Between Holography and the Avant-Garde
Actually, to add to that, I was also a pioneer of holography. I produced several holograms at the San Francisco Holography Studios of Lloyd Cross and Jerry Pethick. Then later at Stanford University. Unfortunately, all the glass plate images are long gone, given away, dispersed, due to a peripatetic existence in the 70s and early 80s. And so it goes. The last thing Peter did before he died was a dvd project with Pethick.
Peter Van Riper: Between Holography and the Avant-Garde
It's unfortunate that Peter's work with Jerry Pethick is not mentioned in this piece. I knew Peter since 1971 through many of his various manifestations. He shouldn't be lost to history and this is a good start for creating his importance.
