Oulipoems and Sporkworld

Millie Niss is launching her Oulipoems: http://www.sporkworld.org/oulipoems=

The six works presented in Oulipoems range from poems, to poetry games, to =
tools for writing poetry. They are inspired by the Oulipo movement, a Frenc=
h literary movement which combines writing and mathematics. Members of the =
Oulipo create works of literature that are governed by rules ("constraints"=
). For example, all words might have to contain only the vowel 'e' or words=
might be spelled phonetically. Members of the Ouliopo are also interested =
in algorithmically generated texts, including, especially, text-generating =
machines which can result in an infinite, or at least very large, number of=
different texts...

I do recomend this work! Also Browser at: http://www.sporkworld.org/ , an a=
mazing website.

Museum Newsletter: the first collaborative review...

The Museum of the Essential and Beyond That is proud of annouce that THE
FIRST COLLABORATIVE REVIEW of the MUSEUM NEWSLETTER is READY!

This project have started last month: April 04th and since then we have
gotten much feedback and development:

1- More than 50 persons from the whole world have subscribed it.
2- We have already a "site": http://arteonline.arq.br/newsletter
3- Our first collaborative review was a success!

If the things keep on going in this way (we believe that it will improve
more yet), we think that this project will be the first one which will
deserve another kind of publication: a printed book or magazine. It will be
the first publication of of the Museum of the Essential and Beyond That.
Let's wait with hope!

"The emergence of virtual communities is reaffirming that potency. In them,
as the great French thinker Marcel Mauss has stated, everyone seems to be
interested in an alternatively shared and solitary project; in accumulated
and redistributed knowledge; in the mutual respect and reciprocal generosity
taught by good breeding."

THE REVIEW:

1- The work: "Dos de Copas" by Muriel Frega (Argentine) was the first one
analysed:

http://arteonline.arq.br/museu/games/artgames.htm

Review's appetizers:

"On the other hand, the scenery contributes a new sense to the word
"technofilia". It turns the PC into a symbolic nuptial thalamus. It is not
an absolutely dangerous appreciation: an important part of the bits that
circulate from PC to PC through the Internet as sexual content, until for
many people Internet and pornography are almost synonymous, an object of
many hysterias." (Dante Smirnof - Spain)

2- News at the library / first floor: Articles and Reviews:

2.1- CRONICA DE UN VIAJE PERFORMATICO AL VIEJO MUNDO by Clemente Padin

Everything started in a November 2003 afternoon when I received a call from=
Cardiff, Gales, Gran Bretana,... (Language: Spanish, the document has im=
ages)

berta Bosco Y Stefano Caldana

"Viewing Axolotls", electronic book, which belongs to Library of Marvels (M=
useum of the Essential and Beyond That / first floor) deserved a review pub=
lished in Cyberp@is / El Pais. (Language: Spanish, the document has images)

Numerous net.artists in their search of new languages are inspired by the p=
oetic of authors widely known to propose an unpublished and creative approa=
ch to their works.

According to the Brazilian artist Regina Celia Pinto, the Magic Realism and=
the narrative structure of the Argentinean Julio Cortazar adapt perfectly =
to the possibilities of hypertextual language and visual narrative. In orde=
r to demonstrate she has launched "Viewing Axolotls.", where the protagonis=
t is transformed into one of the small Mexican salamanders of almost
prehistoric characteristics that give title to the book. Viewing Axolotls i=
s part of the Library of Marvels, an artist's books collection on the net, =
that uses different kind of electronic narrative to reflect on the impact o=
f technology in Literature."

2.4- THE NEOCONCRETE MOVIMENT by Regina Celia Pinto (English Version) (Th=
e document has not images.)

O MOVIMENTO NEOCONCRETO por Regina Celia Pinto (Portuguese Version)

"We split from the Concrete Group from Sao Paulo because they wanted to c=
reate a ten-year plan for future work. The Rio group thought this was takin=
g rationalism to the extreme. We wanted to work intuitively but freely. We =
exchanged a great deal of information, but there was also a certain impregn=
ation, to the extent that one person conversed with another. The NeoConcret=
e (movement) did not arise by chance, nor was it something we developed and=
then started working on. We were led to it by our previous experiments...

Project of Collaborative Art Criticism / 2004

Hello all,

The Museum of the Essencial and Beyond That (http://arteonline.arq.br) is
beginning a Project of Collaborative Art Criticism.
During this project we intend to do collaborative and constructive reviews
about the works of
the museum.
We are working always with three languages: English and Portuguese/Spanish.
It means that people that never were together in any list because of the
language, should be now.

The first issue we have chosen is:

BODY AND SOUL, EROS AND THANATOS.

The works are being chosen "trans-gallery", it means that we are looking for
new classifications and readings of the museum's works.
We believe that this issue will interest everybody.

"The sexual revolution - the true, the only - is the advent of the
sexuality in the evolution of the alive things, the advent of a duality that
finishes the successive repetitions of the same individual. Because of
this, sexual revolution also is the revolution of the death. It is the
revolution of the death, in opposition to the individuals infinite
survival." (Jean Baudrillard - The Vital Illusion)

We are also interested in discussing Cloning, according to Baudrillard's
point of view (The Vital Illusion) and we are very curious to know why the
Cloning and Web Gallery of the museum has very few works up to now. If you
have a work to show in this gallery, send a message to
arteonline@arteonline.arq.br .

If you want to participate of this process of constructive criticism, join
our newsletter right now:

Many thanks for your kind attention,

Regina Celia Pinto
