Parallel Studios has been producing, curating and designing small and large scale CURRENTS video exhibitions in Santa Fe since 2002. We utilize both public venues and gallery settings. Our emphasis is on artist's innovative use of new technology as a platform for expression and artistic exploration.

New Media New Mexico is a project to highlight media arts in our state each summer. Known for both its exceptional environmental beauty and its work in scientific innovation, New Mexico has historically been a mecca for the arts and technology. In recent years, our state has become a gathering place for new media artists and enthusiasts from around the world who converge here to focus on the expanding intersection of art, science and technology.
We are looking for artists or arts organizations who would like to be part of a media arts trail in New Mexico. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the spectacular landscape of New Mexico and the exciting world of 21st century art at the same time.

CURRENTS’ curators look for the unique ways artists use technology as a tool for expression and communication, and ways that scientists, programmers and developers are integrating the arts and aesthetics into their explorations and projects.
The citywide Festival will be held in venues throughout Santa Fe: El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe, the Center for Contemporary Arts, the digital dome facility at the Institute for American Indian Arts, Santa Fe Art Institute, Peters Projects, Axle Contemporary, Warehouse 21 and the Santa Fe Railyard Plaza.
In addition to exhibitions CURRENTS 2016 offers panel discussions, workshops and multimedia performances. All exhibitions and most events are free to the public.
This Year’s Categories include:
