AKOUSMA (5): Sounds, Sounds, and More Sounds!

AKOUSMA is back for a fifth electroacoustic music celebration! On the table this year: sounds, sounds, and more sounds! An aural journey through the work of 12 sound artists of today. Four days of immersive concerts featuring intricately-woven sonic textures, hook-laden electroacoustic melodies, exacerbated ultra-low frequencies, velvety ambiences, articulated music, and jagged electric noise.

Upon Réseaux des arts médiatiques’ invitation, German-Canadian Robin Minard has agreed to take up composition again and develop a poetic multiphonic concert of acousmatic music for Pulsar *3. Also, after 17 years of steady, bold, and generous work, Jean-François Denis, Gilles Gobeil and Robert Normandeau are passing the torch to young composer Nicolas Bernier, an artist gifted with clear judgment and a fine ear. As a pre-concert event, Bernier will premiere a new work. Don’t miss this concert!
