Nicky Gogan, a 1993 graduate of the National College of Art and Design, began her professional art career with a number of site specific performances and video works in the early nineties. Having a great interest in new media and the artistic use of technology, she studied electronic arts in New York, and became one of the first instructors in the creative use of technology on the web at Arthouse in 1996.
Nicky is co-director of Sink Digital Media, (www.sink.ie) a Dublin based new media production company. Sink is a cutting edge creative digital media company. It is one of the first multimedia companies to tap into the emerging web site and rich content markets. Since its inception in 1997, Sink have remained committed to fostering and developing innovation in the digital field.
Nicky is also the co- director of the Darklight Digital Film Festival (www.darklight-filmfestival.com) which takes place in Temple Bar and the Irish Film Center annually, in which capacity she speaks regularly on current developments in film production.
