Michael Lasater: Video, Animation, Sound

Dates:
Sat Mar 10, 2012 13:00 - Sun Jul 08, 2012

Location:
South Bend, Indiana
United States of America

Michael Lasater's solo show running to July 10, 2012, centers on issues and processes of perception, memory and narrative. Using video, sound, music, photography, film, text, speech and animation, his digital compositions explore themes and subjects including self and family, mass media, politics, religion and art. Many of his pieces are transient objects in which video is used against conventional expectation-time is used to isolate, freeze and explore moments in time, moments of confrontation, of contemplation, of illumination. A musician and documentary filmmaker as well as gallery artist, Lasater's vocabulary draws from disciplines and movements across the arts.
