BIO
Being an Australian with four countries weaved into her bloodstream has led Mariam Ella to create artworks that represent her eclectic background and sundry influences.

Her practise oscillates between digital photography, new media, video art and installation. When producing work, she concentrates on the relationship between the authentic and the artifice, consumer conduits, androgeny and body image.

In her spare time, Mariam Ella attempts to dissect the emotions from cabinets, test machine-influenced pheremones, unravel the cultural sex of attention, enable multiple renderings of the word ‘yes’, study the rapid dance steps of art and science…and revel in the clinical wonders of learning from her mistakes.

Currently, she is generating net-artwork based on the thematics of hair as a societal ideation...she will post her finalised version on rhizome soon :)
