Open Position: Technical Audio Visual (A/V) Manager , Production Department
PaceWildenstein is seeking a Technical Audio Visual (A/V) Manager to work directly with PaceWildenstein’s production artists and artist’s studio to manage the creation of contemporary artwork composed of computers and/or other electronic, audio/visual equipment. Will be the primary contact for Michal Rovner studio to service their needs, assist in obtaining proper technology to produce artworks, troubleshoot existing problems and solve new problems as they arise
Primary Responsibilities:
•Will work with Rovner studio to service their needs, assist in obtaining proper technology to produce artworks, troubleshoot existing problems and solve new problems as they arise
•Work to improve presentation of overall artwork, improving its stability, functionality and overall lifespan
•Manage the additional elements needed to create artworks; stones, vitrines, tables, etc
•Instrumental in working with appropriate PaceWildenstein staff in determining best ways to create, pack, handle, catalogue, photograph, install and ultimately delivery artwork to client
•Ability to work under pressure such as exhibition /client deadlines to assist artists
•Provide weekly or as needed updates to Arts Administration staff of artist production projects
•Maintain budgets for production artist projects
•Provide installation, maintenance, packing, handling instructions
•Make site visits to sites of future site specific installations in order to assess the site, its accessibility, light levels and particulars of the location which will affect the presentation of the artwork
Background and qualifications:
•BS/BA degree required, Art or Technology Degree preferred
•5 years technical experience required
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
•Detail oriented and a team player
•Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
•Experience interacting with clients a plus
•Travel is required
•Supervisory experience preferred
