BIO
Jamez Dean, apocalyptic catamite, art-terror-ist incarnate.

Perhaps you already know him from projects with noise-legend Luc Van Acker, prophetic sound wizards The Neon Judgement, Ah Cama-Sotz and Neon Electronics or from his solo noise dark ambient soundscape exploits. Through these, Jamez Dean has rocked many a stage. In 2004, he launches Squirrel Liberation Front, the label through which he releases several CDs. Besides the selling of his CDs, he also focuses on the process of designing CDs. The difference between a regular CD and art-multiple fades.

His works of art are a reflection on contemporary icons, the terror of the banal and a sharp recycling of the legacy of punk and the esthetics of industrial music. He deals with the lack of resistance with regards to a mainstream society but also with regards to a counterculture that is all but dead.

Jamez Dean is a performer emerging straight from the world of J.G. Ballard and William S. Burroughs. The shadow of John Carpenter’s horror film Halloween is cast over his exhibitions and the subsonic cackling of Twin Peaks’ Bob has altered their DNA.

The name of his solo-exhibitions is Not Enough Middle Fingers, usually followed by a subtitle: Something For Nobody, Jamez Dean SUCKS, We Are All Prostitutes, Berlin's Burning,... The exhibitions are always installations in which his works are displayed. By doing so, Jamez Dean makes sure that the spectator enters the world of Jamez Dean the second they walk into the space and rarely exit it unscathed.

Due to his ambiguous relation with art, Jamez Dean was insulted when people gave him the too limiting label of artist. For this and many other reasons he changed this title to l'ardist. L'ard covers everything Jamez Dean does (internet art, photography, vizuals, installation, music, videos, multiples,...).

Of Course he can be the opposite!!!
