BIO

I work on the intersections of art history and theory, museology, philosophy and theory and practice of conservation. In the center of my interests are aspects of time, materiality, changeability, identity and archive. I was Head of Conservation at the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. I obtained my doctorate from the University of Amsterdam and received Dutch Scientific Organisation research grant (2009-2013). Currently, as Andrew W. Mellon Visiting Professor at the Bard Graduate Center in New York, I teach and do research within the curricular initiative Cultures of Conservation.
