Alba G. Corral, Gold Thinkings, DVD, 5.16min, 2009
Gold Thinkings represents the accumulation of thousands points on a digital canvas. One day, basically, I might feel a particular sense and do something weightless or heaviest, more little or bigger than the normal way. When I work in my drawings, i project into it all my being. All my pieces are like layers taken out from a « continuum » which duration is the whole of my life (from Robert Motherwell text). The technique used is processing. Registered in real time and afterly rendering with Camtasia Studio. Music by Nikka.

Alba G. Corral (Madrid, 1977), lives in Barcelona. Artist working with visual code uses real-time programming to create digital landscapes. Also she creates generative art, live cinema and has played at Sonar 2009, Primavera Sound, Miscelánea, Femelek, Festival Baff 2008 , Zentraus, lesFatales, Fellini, Mostra Sonora Visual, CaixaForum, Inside Festival, Niu ….
working regularly with fellow musicians on the current electronic scene as Arbol o Nikka

Field, Interim Camp, Curtmetratge experimental 13min, Alemanya 2008-09
The constant transformation of the landscape is based on generated motion sequences of transforming surface structures. To be able to create these dynamic topographies, we developed a custom animation tool - an agent-based software simulation written in Scala and Processing. It is a common way in science and for computer games to represent terrain as a volumetric model with digital elevation maps, created from images taken from an airplane or by a satellite. Composer Arran Poole created the soundtrack.

Marcus Wendt (‘82) i Vera-Maria Glahn (‘83) have collaborated since 2006 and founded FIELD in January 2009. Marcus Wendt has been working as an artist and designer since 2000. He studied Fine Arts and Visual Communication with Joel Baumann (tomato) and Bernard Stein (Ott+Stein, MetaDesign) at the School of Arts and Design in Kassel. Vera-Maria Glahn is a designer and project manager. She worked at Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival and V2\_Institute for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam.

experimental generative animation
13:00min, HD720p

Pebbledash Gallery
2 Leswin Place, Stoke Newington, London N16 7NJ
7pm-1am 15th August

Poor visibility; weather again unsettled today. Surreal rocks and riven lowlands, valleys fog-shrouded. Frightening depths, and emptiness. Rarity of air is noticeable. What are you looking for in this hostile stretch? - A meditation about the pursuit of an idea; about obstacles, struggle and failure along the way.

Field are Marcus Wendt and Vera-Maria Glahn

The evening will also feature a performance from electronic musician Sam Britton

Sam trained as an architect at the Architectural Association in London, but took up music full time after securing a recording contract as an undergraduate. Since 1997 he has recorded and released music for a number of independent electronic music labels in the UK and the US (Output Recordings, Temporary Residence, Domino and The Leaf Label) to significant critical acclaim and continues to perform as Icarus (with Ollie Bown) all over Europe. In 2006 he completed a masters course in electronic music and composition at IRCAM in Paris and he is currently researching a PhD in composition under the supervision of Richard Barrett at Brunel University.
