Do you want to have a better understanding of what digital fabrication is about and the workflows that produce physical output of great ideas?
The Digital Fabrication Residency program hosts Workshop Intensives for any artist, designer or creative to enroll in for professional development to learn more about digital fabrication technology and workflows. Whether you are interested in creating CAD models for project proposals, or are interested in integrating 3D printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, digital textile printing or digital embroidery into your current body of work, these workshops are an affordable jumpstart with us for real time learning online from your studio, kitchen or favorite coffee shop. We are artists with experience working with artists and designers to take great ideas into real world results. This workshop series is a great opportunity for emerging and established artist, designers and artisans to gain invaluable insights into digital fabrication technology.
Join us online for any of our scheduled 2-day weekend Intensive Workshops. Workshops are limited to 24 participants per workshop and are presented by utilizing online learning technology used in education and industry to create a learning environment that provides a close-up view of working in the software and showcasing the resources critical to the creative process. In addition to all the material presented on the workshop topic, there is also time for Q&A and engaging with other attendees.

The Digital Fabrication Residency is an online skill-building intensive incubator for visual artists and designers with the desire to learn digital fabrication workflows such as 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, digital embroidery, textile printing and other CNC related workflows. The programing consists of individual consultations, group workshops, open work times and guest speaker talks with residents. This program enables artists and designers at any stage in their career to explore technology that is changing ideas about studio practice and in the craft of making. The residency utilizes online collaborative tools to enable learning and consultation and idea development catered to the individual project needs of participants.
The Digital Fabrication Residency introduces residents to specific software workflows and provides residents with limited license to selected software for the duration of the residency. Residents can submit up to 5 files to be 3D printed or submit files for a limited number of laser cuts or for a limited number of digital embroidery works.*
• The residency includes technical workshops, individual consultation meetings and open work time; all utilizing interactive online collaborative technology readily used in education and industry.
• The Digital Fabrication Residency is designed to be flexible around resident’s schedules.
• Residents can connect to meetings and workshops from their location on their personal computer.
• Workshops include entry-level programs to professional level software workflows for designing, modeling, engineering parts, file preparation, including how traditional workflows can augment digital output and locating CNC related services and professional level services providers for machine output.

A completed application includes a bio statement, project/area of concentration proposal, either a website link to your portfolio website or by emailing your images to the email address provided on the Apply form and a $15 application fee.
