I am a working artist in the plastic arts. I have been a painter for over 50 years [I am 72 years old], most recently working/living in New Mexico but I have recently relocated back to the Bay Area [Berkeley/Oakland] where I lived for 30 years before moving to New Mexico.
I am a graduate of The Art Institute Of San Francisco [[painting].
In 2009 I contracted Parkinson Disease and in the past years have found it more and more difficult to paint due to trembling hands and overall herky/jerky symptoms. I am now at the point of wanting to switch to digital art.
I hope to get a lot of help and advice from fellow members of the Rhizome community. I am going to need it. I used AutoCad for several years [I am also an architect,] but I don't know if that knowledge will necessarily transfer to using the Net as my art form.
Of course, it is true that any life experience is part of an artists output. That is what makes an artist's life so wonderful ... we have to be aware of and sensitive to all the details of living in and experiencing our world.
