Craig Coleman is currently an Associate Professor of Art at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. His formal education in art began at Florida State University, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (emphasis in mixed media), before attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree (emphasis in photography).
As an artist, he prefers to blend photography, digital imaging, installation, electronics, and assemblage, to create works that speak about visual perspective, illusion, and the impact of technology and consumerism on our culture. His artistic philosophy leans toward finding the gray areas between disciplines rather than strictly defining them.
Craig has taught in academia for fourteen years and has taught a wide range of subjects and media including kinetic sculpture, graphic design, installation, digital imaging, video, and photography. Craig has taught at many colleges and universities including the University of Colorado at Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, University of Denver, Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Colorado Institute of Art, and The University of Florida.
