Introducing AUDIODROME: a new playground for presenting forward-thinking audiovisual remixes. Presented by WOAH and Tigerbeat6, the event series debuts at The Cinefamily, with Vol 1: Terminal Vortex. The first iteration doubles as a platform for new audiovisual cohabitations and as the official record release soiree for Kid606’s latest beats on Tigerbeat6. Synthesizing audio infusers alongside purveying animators and video artists, AUDIODROME pushes live-score events into an unexplored territory for experimentation and permeation. WOAH (We Open Art Houses) and mobile broadcast studio Experimental Half-Hour team up with multidisciplinary artist complex Werkärtz to host the latest edition of BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) Los Angeles.

Lighting-up with projections from over 20 LA-based experimental animators, video and sound frequency artists, BYOB-LA III showcases mind bending visuals alongside live performances throughout the night. A one-night audio-and-visual celebration, join us Thursday, September 25th, 2014 from 8pm-12am at Werkärtz in downtown LA’s Arts District.

In a world where the lines between IRL and URL dissolve through limitless manipulation, we function in communication networks as both alienated subject and mediated object. Virtually extended, representations of history, society, adolescence, youth, and ourselves are commonly perceived as lived experience.  Instruments and vessels of absorption, we inhabit an age where information and value, notions of private and public, as well as distinctions between the natural and the neutralized, collapse into meaningless noise.  Like the Internet itself, the visual and sound artists showcased here recode the past through rearranging fragments into new hybrid forms and futures. The beauty of this new habitat is juxtaposed in a political climate with recurring themes of corruption, immortality, violence, and the invasion of basic privacies.  Deeply entrenched in a lifestyle of manufactured need, looking back less than twenty years ago seems to unearth an eternity of waste.  Overloaded and overwhelmed, the only hope is to Try To Forget.

As the next installment of the Cypress Village Tunnel Art Walk, mobile retailer VCR (Vintage Contemporary Reconstructed) and floating art space WOAH (We Open Art Houses) present TUNNEL VISION, a one-night audiovisual event set within a former pedestrian passageway. Offering a space for communion and new experiences of telecommunication, TUNNEL VISION aims to create a temporary portal inducing expanded states of sensory awareness. Pooling audiovisual elements typically found in Los Angeles ‘undergrounds,’ TUNNEL VISION bridges experiential audio, light optics, and the in-between, to create a hypnotic experience of sight and sound, magic and transcendence. Underground live performances from Crowhurst, Josh Anzano, Leslie Dugger, and Josh Garza (Secret Machines & EFG). Overground DJ sets from Mor Elian(Dublab), Thomas K, and Nu Speed. Interactive installations and visuals from MAPJACKS Projection Mapping Crew, Klaus Pinter, Brian Decker, Daiana Feuer, Mark Mars, Nemo, INX, LURK, and Sammy Wong.
